The engine is exact.
The practitioner must be too.
PARALLAX RC® is a deterministic retrieval engine. What it returns depends entirely on how it is asked. The Academy trains practitioners to ask with precision — and to produce findings that can be tested, replicated and presented as evidence.
LLX-ACADEMY · R1
A deterministic engine and an imprecise query produce a precise wrong answer.
The engine returns exactly what the retrieval plan asks for. If the plan is imprecise, the result is precise and wrong — and wrong with a SHA-512 seal on it. Certification trains practitioners to construct retrieval plans that are as deterministic as the engine that executes them.
Precision over fluency
The Academy does not teach prompting as a conversational skill. It teaches prompting as a formal specification act: what constraints to set, what to leave open, and what the engine will return for each choice.
Reproducibility as a discipline
A retrieval that cannot be replayed is not evidence. The Academy teaches practitioners to construct and record every retrieval so that any other practitioner — or an opposing expert — can run the same query on the same sealed corpus and obtain the same result.
Custody as standard practice
Reading a SHA-512 digest, understanding what it binds, and producing the custody record that accompanies a finding are not optional skills. They are the difference between a finding and an allegation.
Method that withstands examination
Certified practitioners produce findings under a named methodology. The methodology can be explained, defended and tested by an opposing expert. The Academy trains to that standard, not to the standard of producing plausible output.
What the Academy actually teaches.
Two disciplines, both about precision rather than fluency: how to state a question so the engine can answer it exactly, and how to write the deterministic SQL that returns the same rows every time it is run.
Prompt craft
How to phrase a request against a sealed corpus: what to constrain, what to leave open, and how to read what comes back.
Deterministic SQL
Writing queries whose result is a function of the corpus alone — reproducible, reviewable, and replayable months later.
Custody and verification
Reading a digest, replaying a retrieval, and producing the record that shows how a finding was obtained.
Method work
Chronologies, register cross-checks and delay methods, run on real corpora rather than exercises.
Each level unlocks a different class of deliverable.
The three certification levels are graded by the complexity of the work they authorise. Each is examined on a live corpus, not a simulation. The examination is not multiple choice — it is a retrieval task with a verifiable result.
Certified operator
Ingestion, indexing and retrieval on a live corpus, with custody read correctly.
Unlocks: individual software accessCertified analyst
Chronologies, register cross-checks and findings, each one cited to its page.
Unlocks: analysis modulesCertified expert
Delay methods and the preparation of findings that will be tested in evidence.
Unlocks: expert deliverablesIndividual access to the software is not sold. It is earned.
The commercial model is an enterprise licence: the organisation licenses the engine for its corpora. The practitioner licence sits on top and is issued to named individuals only, and only once they have passed the examination. There is no route to the software that bypasses the Academy.
Organisation licence
The organisation licenses the engine, its corpora and its custody records. Procurement, security review and deployment happen once. Named practitioner seats are added under the licence.
Practitioner licence
Issued only to named individuals who have passed the relevant certification level. The licence is tied to the holder, not the organisation. It cannot be transferred and it cannot be purchased without the examination.
The examination is a retrieval task with a verifiable result.
Each certification level is examined on a sealed corpus assembled for the examination. The candidate is given a set of forensic questions and must produce a retrieval plan, execute it, read the custody record correctly, and present a finding with its citation. The examiner can replay every step.
Live corpus examination
The examination corpus is sealed and version-pinned before the session begins. Every retrieval the candidate makes is recorded in the custody log. The examiner has the same sealed corpus and can replay every step.
Verifiable result
There is a correct answer — the passages that answer the forensic question, with the correct citations. The examination is not judged on style or interpretation. It is judged on retrieval precision and custody compliance.
Independent replication
A passing result means any other certified practitioner, given the same sealed corpus and the same questions, could produce the same finding. That is the standard. That is also the Daubert standard.
Public registry
Certified practitioners are listed in the public registry with their level, their examination date and their certification identifier. An organisation instructing a certified practitioner can verify the certification before the engagement begins.
The certification is not a credential. It is a proof of method.
A finding produced by a certified practitioner under a named methodology, on a sealed corpus, with a replayable retrieval record, is not an allegation. It is a deterministic result that can be tested by any other practitioner with access to the same corpus.
